What to do during the homestay?

There is enough to do and see in the village and Khon Kaen area to keep you occupied: take a (guided if you wish) walk through the fields and see the farmers at work in their rice and vegetable gardens. You can also work alongside them for a few hours or days. Go and visit the forest monks, make an offering and receive a blessing. Visit the local markets of Ban Don Noi and/or Tha Phra with Manida and learn how to cook delicious Thai food. Take the back roads with a motorbike to the famous temple of  Wat Pa Noon Khon Khaen. Go and eat Thai fondue at the restaurant in Ban Nong Yan Pet and if you are lucky there will be a festival or party in the village to which you will be invited.

And .....don't forget to wake up early to observe the village in the morning from the balcony or courtyard.
